The wedding is at 6 – cocktail hour at 5 so all photos have to be done by then, so that means starting around 3 (if all goes well – they tend to be late). It’s all going to be on the sand all day – even the ceremony – so I’m thinking I may need to be shoe-less for all that. One thing I hate is sand in my shoes! I’m thinking back-lit is the way to go. However, I will be using all kinds because it will go way into the night! Thanks for your words and for taking the time to address my question!

thank you for your comments.

I actually had this wedding in a church and then we went to the beach so I had nice slip on sandals and then when we got to the beach kicked off my shoes and rolled up my dress pants, as I was knee deep in sand for most of it.

What time is the wedding?
if its too light back light it and use a reflector if its too dark work on high ISO and maybe look into a video light.

Hey there – beautiful shot! I am doing my very first beach wedding at the end of May and the shooting time is NOT optimal for daylight. Any suggestions? What type of footwear does a photog use for an all day wedding on sand?
