Quick question. I tried the recipe on the before image and it didn’t look the same as the final image. Is something missing, or did I get it wrong? Anyone else try this? If no percentage points are listed, are they assumed to be 100%?
Probably select-o-pop combined with the increase in contrast. Select-o-pop adds some sharpening to the areas in which it’s applied, and the original has some seriously washed out tones from the flare… just setting the right white and black point goes a long way towards making things look crisp.

I tried it also, to no avail. Don’t know where it went wrong.

there’s definitely some sharpening going on somewhere that the author didn’t mention

but no, no extra sharpening. i think it came from all the color bumps and increased contrast.
